Like few other photographers, Markus masterfully employs visual depth to craft spaces that captivate and invite exploration. Throughout his work, he rejects the obvious and embraces the freely associative. Markus’s path to photography began with a detour through the humanities. He started a degree in history and political science in Dresden, but while navigating dense texts, he discovered his love of images and left university to pursue photography. He first worked as an assistant and later earned his diploma from Berlin’s Lette Verein school in 2003. Since then, he has lived and worked in Germany’s capital, where his office is based.
In addition to art photography, Markus is known for his sophisticated advertising work with clients such as Netflix, Amazon, Adidas, Volkswagen, Mercedes-Benz and Walt Disney.
Even in commercial projects, he creates timeless, enduring images, earning awards like the Clio, Epica, and WPPED Cream.
